✦ U.S. Tariff and Shipping Updates! 🇺🇸

USA SHIPPING AND TARIFF UPDATES

U.S. shipping is back, but there are some important changes.

  • U.S. clients will be charged duty/tariffs fees at checkout, along with the shipping fees! Therefore, shipping fees at checkout will be higher than they used to be. Please note that U.S. bound parcels will have a turnaround time of 2-3 weeks!

  • There will be no additional fees to pay when your parcel enters the US. We will be remitting the duty payments on your behalf!

  • Shipping and duty/tariff fees will be non-refundable.

As of August 29th, the U.S. will no longer have a $800 duty free threshold on imported shipments. Therefore any shipments entering the U.S. are expected to have tariff fees.

Usually duty or tariff fees are paid by the customer at the time of delivery (for instance, when I receive parcels from overseas I will be charged a certain percentage at the time of delivery.) However, USPS does not seem to have the infrastructure in order to collect these fees, and will only accept parcels with prepaid duty/tariffs or bounce parcels back.

Canada Post is now working with a third party called “Zonos”, which will allow the duty/tariff payments to be prepaid, as parcels entering the US without prepaid fees will be denied & sent back to me. Moving forward, US shipping prices will have the duty/tariffs included, and from there we will be remitting the duty payments on behalf of our US clients!

To those waiting on SJM preorders, please check your email inbox as we will be directly updating you as we are resuming shipments now!

As for the SJM restocks while my contract is still valid, I currently have stock waiting to be listed on the website and I am at a point where I can’t afford to hold off a launch any longer… The hopeful news with this is that my contract is up in October (how is it already September?!?) and I may be able to ask Writers House for an extension until December 2025, which would allow me to continue selling what I have on hand + maybe some restocks?? Bottom line is I’m remaining hopeful and I won't let this ruin my ambitions when it comes to my small business (even if I have been crashing out regularly over all of this) 🫠

I know this is a LOT, it’s confusing and just seriously a pain. But please know I am doing everything possible to adapt and figure out these new regulations, while keeping everyone updated- and also holding onto the motivation to keep current projects going. I am beyond grateful for everyone's support and patience during this time, and I’m giving each and every one of you a big ol virtual hug right now. 💕
