🇺🇸 USA SHIPPING & DUTY/TARIFF UPDATES

U.S. shipping is continuing, but there are some important changes to how duties and tariffs are collected!

• U.S. shipping rates at checkout will remain the same as they have been! Although UPS shipping costs us more, we're covering the additional shipping expenses ourselves to help keep things as affordable as possible for our U.S. customers. 💕

• Duties, tariffs, and import fees are no longer prepaid at checkout. If applicable, these fees may be collected by UPS during the import process or upon delivery.

• Any applicable import duties, tariffs, taxes, and brokerage fees are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are separate from your order and shipping total, so please keep this in mind when placing your order!

Why has this changed?

Previously, I shipped U.S.-bound orders through Canada Post, using a third-party service called Zonos to collect and remit duties/tariffs in advance. This meant these fees were included at checkout, so customers wouldn't have to worry about additional charges when their parcels arrived. 

However, due to ongoing changes with Canada Post/Zono's system, I have made the decision to switch to UPS. This means duties and import fees may instead be collected from the recipient during the import clearance process or upon delivery.

While this change means import fees may be an additional expense for our U.S. customers, we're doing our best to keep shipping rates at their current prices, even though UPS costs us more. We know times are tough, and we don't want rising shipping costs to make it even harder to support small businesses. 🥹

I know international shipping regulations can be confusing, and honestly, keeping up with all the changes has been a journey in itself! Please know that I'm doing everything I can to navigate these changes while continuing to get your orders to you as affordably as possible.

EU SHIPPING UPDATES

As of July 1st, there have been changes to shipping to the following EU countries:

Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Portugal, Spain

What's changing?

• Previously, orders valued under €150 could enter the EU without customs duties.
• Beginning July 1, 2026, most commercial orders may be subject to customs duties regardless of their value.

New €3 Customs Duty
For many orders valued under €150, a temporary €3 customs duty may apply.

Please note that this fee is charged per qualifying item, not per package.

Examples:

• If your package contains 3 identical items, the duty would typically be €3 total.
• If your package contains 3 different items, the duty could be €9 total (€3 per item).

Customs authorities determine how items are grouped based on their classification and declaration details, so the final amount may vary depending on the contents of your order.

These fees are imposed by EU customs authorities and are not collected or controlled by Enchanted Oddities Incorporated.

Originally we were shipping our EU bound parcels with Canada Post, but due to the recent changes, CP has closed down shipping to the 12 countries stated in the prior story post.

Since the end of June, we have been looking into alternative shipping providers, but with very little luck... As of right now, we can only ship to the EU through DHL- but that comes with much higher shipping fees...

This is not the ideal option, but we are still avidly searching for cheaper alternatives!
